Leadership Excellence Level 3 – Apprenticeship

Study Area: Apprenticeships
Duration: 16 Months
Attendance: Part Time

Course Overview

The Leadership Excellence Level 3 Apprenticeship with integrated ILM Certificate is an ideal opportunity for individuals looking to develop a career in continuous improvement, operational excellence, and business improvement. This apprenticeship is designed for those working in manufacturing, engineering, business operations, production, logistics, or service environments, supporting organisations to identify opportunities for improvement and deliver sustainable changes that improve performance, quality, efficiency, and productivity.

Through the apprenticeship, you will gain valuable practical experience while working towards a nationally recognised apprenticeship and an integrated ILM Certificate. You’ll work alongside experienced colleagues and improvement professionals, developing the knowledge, skills, and behaviours needed to identify problems, analyse processes, support improvement projects, and contribute to a culture of continuous improvement within your organisation.

You will learn to:

  • Identify opportunities for improvement and support continuous improvement activities within the workplace
  • Use structured improvement techniques to investigate problems, identify root causes, and develop effective solutions
  • Collect, analyse, and interpret data to support improvement decisions and measure performance
  • Support improvement projects, including planning, implementation, monitoring, and evaluation
  • Apply recognised improvement methodologies and tools to improve quality, productivity, efficiency, and customer outcomes

To enrol, you must be employed in a relevant role with an employer who will support your learning and development throughout the programme. Apprenticeships are work-based qualifications, so securing a job in the sector is essential before you can begin your training. If you are not currently employed, you can explore our latest apprenticeship vacancies.

We also encourage you to proactively contact local employers to ask if they would consider taking you on as an apprentice. If an employer agrees to support your apprenticeship, please contact us at apprenticeships@calderdale.ac.uk so we can assess your suitability for the programme and begin the enrolment process.

Alternatively, if you do not yet have an employer, you can apply for a full-time course as a starting point. Should you secure employment during your course, you can be transferred onto the apprenticeship pathway.
