Course Overview

The performing arts program will prepare you to develop skills for stage and screen and work in spotlight and prepare you for the screen in the thriving screen acting industry in Calderdale, where major productions for the BBC and Netflix, including Happy Valley and High Hoops, are filmed.

Throughout this course, you will work through a range of exciting modules. Firstly, you will produce several small project outcomes and one larger piece, all pieces are designed to enable you to try different styles and genres while working collaboratively. The next module will then allow you to write, rehearse and prepare for a performance, working together as a group. The final module will allow you to perform your prepared seasonal piece.

All learners will study GCSE English alongside this course.

Entry Requirements & Interview Process

No previous qualifications required, however, applicants are asked to bring in a portfolio of work in Maths and English at the initial meeting and be expected to be working at a minimum of high Entry 3 or Level 1 in English before starting the course. This will be measured at the initial assessment in the Admissions process.
