Course Overview

This qualification is designed to increase individuals’ knowledge and understanding of mental health and mental well-being. Successful completion of the required units will allow the individual to develop in-depth knowledge and understanding of mental health. It will also support learner progression into relevant employment within the health and social care sector.

Throughout this course, you will complete modules on:

Understanding the context of mental health and wellbeing
Promotion of mental health and wellbeing
Mental health problems: associated issues and consequences
Understanding mental ill health
Working in mental health

Weekly, face-to-face at Calderdale College

Applicants without the stated entry requirements may still have their application considered. These will be evaluated on individual merit and interviewing staff may introduce an assessment into the interview process to assess applicants’ current level of ability in relation to the course applied for. Course Fees

Eligibility for fully-funded participants

Don’t already hold a Level 3 qualification
Hold a Level 3 qualification but are unemployed
Hold a Level 3 qualification, are employed or self-employed but earn less than £26,800 per annum

Participants must be 19 years or older as of 31 August 2026.

Participants must reside in West Yorkshire.
