This course is ideal if you are interested in all aspects of men’s hairdressing. The qualification is highly practical and provides the skills and underpinning knowledge to practice as a barber.
This course will be of interest to people with men’s hairdressing skills or those new to the industry. You will learn new skills that will enable you to work as a Barber in this ever-growing industry.
The units are selected on the basis of relevance to the industry and the employability value and include:

Mondays 2:00pm – 9:00pm
Entry Requirements & Interview Process
Applicants must possess Level 1 Hairdressing or 4 GCSEs at grade D/grade 3 or above to include Math’s and English. Applicants must be prepared to engage in work experience /work at least one day per week in industry.
Applicants will be required to attend an interview and will be expected to demonstrate enthusiasm, commitment and good communication skills.
Progression
After successfully completing the course, students may progress onto work in the industry and/or progress on to the Level 3 NVQ in Barbering to further develop your skills.
Career Opportunities
Work in a barber shop, spa or rehabilitation centre. Salon owner.
Assessment Methods
The course is based on development and assessment of practical skills on clients and underpinning knowledge through online tests.
