Lloyds Banking Group announce T Level Student of the Year 2025 winner!
One thing we love to do is celebrate our students and there is no better time than now. Edward, our former T Level Digital student who recently finished his course with a Merit, has been named as Lloyds Banking Group’s T Level Student of the Year!
Edward travelled with his Industry Placement Officer, Helen Ward, to Lloyds Banking Group’s London Head Office in June, where he was one of four nominees considered for this prestigious award. The nominees, selected out of 200 T Level Business and Digital T Level students from across the country, were chosen by Lloyds Banking Group Management on their contribution to the business during their 315 hours industry placement at Leeds and Halifax sites.
T Levels are a two-year qualification for 16–19-year-olds, offering a mix of classroom learning and practical experience through industry placements. One T Level is equivalent to 3 A Levels and is designed to provide young people with the skills, knowledge and experience needed to thrive in the workplace.
The College is immensely proud of Edward, who undertook responsibilities as a Data Engineer during his industry placement. Working as part of a team, Edward supported the development of digital code used to produce meaningful insights in to team productivity.
Edward said: “A T Level was the perfect way to introduce myself to the world of work whilst being supported by college tutors and support staff. The course allowed me to focus purely on my passion for all things digital.”
As a direct result of Edward’s contribution during his placement, he, together with fifteen other Business and Digital T Level students from Calderdale College, has been offered a Level 4 Higher Apprenticeship with Lloyds Banking Group starting this September.
Not only has Edward made an impact at Lloyds Banking Group, he has also achieved further recognition for his outstanding attitude as a Yorkshire and Humber region finalist for the National Apprenticeship and Skills Award 2025!
