The College will receive just over £1 million government funding to support much-needed improvements in the next academic year.
The funding is part of a £30million investment to repair and maintain 18 colleges across the Yorkshire and the Humber region, with investments ranging from £6,000 for smaller institutions to £7million for large college groups, and part of a wider £1.7billion investment to modernise college buildings by 2030.
Andrew Harrison, Vice Principal for Corporate Services at Calderdale College, said: “We’re delighted with the Department for Education’s announcement of funding to support colleges like ours with much-needed improvements in the next academic year.
“As our student numbers continue to grow, ensuring our learning environments are modern and fit for purpose is essential to providing the best possible experience for students.
“Previous investment is already enabling us to make significant upgrades to our Mill Studios campus at Dean Clough, creating a unique and inspiring setting for our Art & Design students.
“This new funding will support further improvements across our facilities and will make a meaningful difference to our local community.”
