The HTQ Community Coaching course is a career-focused qualification designed for learners who want to build the skills and experience needed to work in community sport, physical activity and participation-based roles.
Throughout the course, students develop a strong understanding of coaching practice alongside key areas of sport and exercise science. You’ll explore how the body responds to physical activity through anatomy and physiology, understand how nutrition supports health, wellbeing and performance.
Alongside this scientific knowledge, the course places a strong emphasis on practical coaching and professional skills. Students plan and deliver real coaching sessions, design and evaluate training programmes, and develop community, leadership and research skills through a live project. A dedicated focus on lifestyle and community coaching ensures learners are equipped to support behavioural changes, promote wellbeing and deliver inclusive programmes that engage diverse groups.
