Meet the Course Leader

Justin Magner, Course Leader, Sport

I qualified with a PGCE, BA (Hons) Community Sport, Leisure & Recreation Studies and I'm now doing an MSc in Sport & Exercise Science. At Calderdale College I'm a Lecturer and Course Leader for Level 3 Sport Development, Coaching & Fitness and Level 2 Fitness Instructing. I've had over 20 years' experience in sports development, coaching and fitness, including time at Sport England and as a talent scout for Manchester United FC. Helping sportspeople fulfill their own goals is incredibly rewarding for me, especially when that turns into a long-term career for them.

Student Testimonial

Former Level 3 Sport student, Liam Hastie

My best moment at College was achieving good grades. My tutors were really good and they make sure you're up-to-date. My course focused on individual subjects and it has helped me into higher education and hopefully it will help me to get a job in Sports Coaching or secondary school teaching. I studied the same course at sixth form before coming to the College and would definitely recommend this College course.
