We know how difficult it can be to find something for your children to do during the school holidays and as we are passionate about inspiring people to be active and have fun, we offer a range Sports Camps most holidays.

Our Camps

Our camps are designed for children aged 6-12, offering multi-sport and multi-activity activities which include football, basketball, rugby, netball, dance, dodgeball, athletics, cricket, board games, arts/ crafts, disability sports and a wide verity of other challenging and engaging activities. 

We also offer a specialist programmes in conjunction with our key sporting partners:

  • Halifax Panthers (Men’s & Women’s Rugby League)
  • FC Halifax Town (Men’s Football)
  • Bradford Dragons (Basketball)
  • Calderdale Cubs (Netball)
  • Halifax FC Women (Women’s Football)
  • Panthers Cheer & Dance Camp

Healthy Holiday's Calderdale (HAF)

We are also a delivery partner for Calderdale Council Healthy Holiday’s programme, a programme of activities that is available during school holidays that is provided as part of the Government’s Holiday Activities and Food (HAF) programme offering free places fully funded by the Department for Education (DfE).

At our holiday camps we prepare, plan and deliver structured and enjoyable activity programs that meet the needs of all young people for all abilities, and we ensure all children have a quality experience that results in:

  • Providing healthy and nutritious meals.
  • Meeting new friends.
  • Developing a greater knowledge of food, nutrition and other issues related health & wellbeing.
  • Have the chance to take part in fun activities and meet new friends.
  • Socialise.
  • Learn new skills.
  • Have new experiences.
  • Gain confidence.

Who is Eligible?

Those that can access clubs free of charge are:

  • School aged children from reception to Year 11, who are in receipt of benefits related free school meals in Calderdale.

There are funded or subsidised places for some other children, which include:

  • Children assessed by the local authority as being in need, at risk or vulnerable.
  • Young carers.
  • Children in care or children previously in care.
  • Children with special educational needs and/or disabilities who have been identified will benefit from HAF.
  • Children who have low attendance rates at school or who are at risk of exclusion.
  • Children living in areas of high deprivation or from low-income households who are not in receipt of free school meals.
  • Elective home educated children.
  • Young offenders.

Calderdale School Sports Partnership

The Calderdale School Sports Partnership (CSSP) offers a Calderdale wide approach to support local schools.  With a dedicated team of sports development officers and academy coaches that span over 20 years’ experience working across sports development, local Education and School Games within Calderdale.

Our vision is to create, promote and develop, through collaboration and partnership, a sustainable system of Physical Activity, PE, School Sport and Well-Being that enriches and makes a real difference to the lives of all children and young people within Calderdale.

Rationale

Calderdale School Sports Partnership (CSSP) outlines the support available to all schools in Calderdale to enable them to fulfil the requirements of the Sports Premium Funding.  The CSSP will continue to promote a sustainable system providing all young people with high quality PE & sport, physical activity, well-being, leadership and competitive opportunities for all. 

Strategic Aim

To work in partnership with schools, communities and partners to ensure all young people have equal access to high quality physical activity, PE, and school sport provision.  The aim of the programme is to continually raise attainment and increase participation in competitive/ non-competitive school sport. 

We will also liaise with your school to co-design/ develop an annual plan for the delivery of lunch-time clubs and after school clubs, all delivered by qualified staff and coaches.  Alongside this we aim to reduce inequalities and promote a healthy, active lifestyle to Calderdale’s young people.

  • Student Leadership & Development (Sports leadership)
  • Sports Specific Master Classes

Rugby Academy

In partnership with Halifax Panthers, this is a unique opportunity for you to develop the knowledge and expertise you need for a career in the industry, or to further your study at university.

Men's Football

FC Halifax Town and Calderdale College Development Centre for Football is a unique training scheme for young talented footballers aged 16-19.

Women's Football

The Calderdale College Women’s Football Academy, in collaboration with Halifax FC Women, offers a distinctive training and games programme tailored for talented footballers aged 16-19.

Netball Academy

In partnership with Calderdale Netball Cubs, our Academy offers a unique opportunity to develop skills and experience as well as utilising pathways to senior netball.

Basketball Academy

In partnership with Bradford Dragons, our Elite Basketball Academy offers a unique opportunity and pathway in which 16-19 year olds can progress to an NBL level side whilst gaining an education.
