Unlock experience working as a content creator with a Digital T Level at Calderdale College

T Level Digital student Layba has gained content creation experience during her industry placement with Huddersfield based company PJM Digital.

Whilst working with Calderdale College, Phil Myerscough, Director at PJM Digital, an eCommerce digital agency specialising in strategy, web design and digital marketing, took Layba under his wing to help put the learnings of her course into practice.

Phil explains: “Taking on a T Level student was a good opportunity for the business as it means we can take on more work.

“Layba hit the ground running. She has covered a lot in her time with us, writing blog posts and adding to marketing plans for email, social media and the website. She’s just finished her time with us working on fixing some of our client products.”

Marketing, social media and content creation are key units in the Digital T Level course, and her industry placement with PJM Digital has resulted in Layba being able to put her new skills into practice.T Levels are the newest qualification for 16–18-year-olds, designed by the Government with employers, and these two-year courses go beyond the basics and give students all the current skills and knowledge they need to secure employment once they finish their studies.

Phil continues: “Layba has been involved in lots of different things and it was great working together. She’s now off to something bigger and better over the summer, and I know whatever comes after her studies she will knock out the park.”

Layba is now undertaking a nine-week paid placement with Lloyd’s Banking Group where she will get involved with multiple projects spanning asset finance, coding, creating finance models and planning, designing and building systems and webpages.
