Course Overview

This course is designed for students working to a Level 1 ability by supporting students to integrate into life at Calderdale College while sitting their GCSEs and gaining a business qualification.

Level 1 Business focuses on employability skills in conjunction with developing student academic abilities. This course offers both Business and Administration skills, and the retail sector modules focuses on practical skills that will aid any student start their working life. It will provide insight to the inner workings of businesses.

There is opportunity for collaboration during this course, and any experience working or volunteered in encouraged to be shared.

During this course, you will become well equipped in aspects of employability skills and the digital operations within businesses.

Entry Requirements & Interview Process

No formal entry requirements. Applicants will be required to attend an interview with the course tutor.

Progression

After successfully completing this course, students may move on to a Level 2 or Level 3 course offered by the college, either focusing on Business or learning about something new.

Career Opportunities
Entry level business or retail roles.

Assessment Methods

Students will be assessed throughout the course via a portfolio of work, role plays and written assessments.
