Course Overview

Our Level 2 CACHE certificate in introducing caring for children and young People is ideal for learners aged 19+. It covers essential topics across early years, children’s learning experience, child development, safeguarding, inclusion, and healthy lifestyles. Delivered in a supportive learning environment, the course equips learners with both theoretical knowledge and awareness of child welfare, preparing them for work with children or further early years qualifications.

Entry Requirements & Interview Process

You will be required to complete an Initial Assessment, which determines your current level of understanding in the subject. This helps us place you on the most suitable course for your skills. Once this has been completed, you will be enrolled to begin your learning journey.

 

You will need to complete an online application. Then you will be invited into an assessment and enrolment day to complete the assessment, discuss options with a qualified tutor and then enrol.

Progression

  • Further Study – Full progression to Level 3 Early Years Educator diplomas or Level 2/3 childcare qualifications.

Assessment Methods

Assessment is portfolio-based. Learners complete a range of assessments and practical tasks designed to demonstrate their understanding and skills. These are internally assessed by subject tutors and then internally and externally quality assured to ensure they meet national standards. There are no formal exams, making it a supportive option for learners who prefer coursework and continuous assessment. Feedback is constructive and personalised, supporting each learner’s journey towards progression and success.

You must be ordinarily resident in England (3 years +)

Unemployed and seeking work or employed and earning less than £25,000 per year

Career Opportunities

  • Apprenticeships – Suitable for entry into Level 2 apprenticeships as Nursery Assistants or Early Years Practitioners.
  • Entry-Level Work – Prepares learners for roles such as babysitter, preschool assistant, or childminder support, with knowledge in safeguarding, communication, and child development.
