You might already be questioning, Apprenticeship or University? Here is a success story from our former apprentice Eleanor, who has tried the University route, but shortly after decided it wasn’t for her. She has now secured herself a full-time job as a Digital Marketing Executive with her apprenticeship employer, Browndog Design Ltd.
Eleanor began her apprenticeship in January 2017 and successfully completed it in October 2018. Her apprenticeship has enabled her to gain the experience of working within an agency, being able to work confidently with clients, and also to expand her knowledge of Digital Marketing.
Eleanor says: “Apprenticeships are so beneficial for those who want to start their career straight away and to study whilst in the workplace. I would recommend Calderdale College as they have great links with the local employers which helped me secure the position with Browndog.”
“My training officer had a great knowledge of the subject area, as he has already worked in the industry himself and whenever I needed help with anything, he was always on hand.”
Eleanor is hoping to stay at Browndog for the next few years and continue gaining valuable experience while developing her knowledge.
“I’m also hoping to grow my expertise into specialist areas within the agency, such as web development – whilst keeping a broad know-how of all areas to help with the day-to-day running of the business,” says Eleanor.
Alexis Bradbury, Director at Browndog Design Ltd, said:
“Eleanor impressed us from the very start of her apprenticeship. Her can-do attitude and commitment to learning more about our industry meant that she was already a key part of our team, even before she completed her training. I look forward to seeing how her career develops, hopefully with Browndog!”
