Roisin joined the course later than usual as she was originally studying at a Sixth Form college; she decided to study the Supporting Individuals with Learning Disabilities and Dementia Awareness Course at Calderdale College.
At first, she was unsure of what she wanted to do, however Roisin very quickly came to enjoy the subject and has work extremely hard and is an exceptional student. Course tutors arranged for Roisin to undergo her work placement in the Employability and Life Skills department at the College.
The Employability and Life Skills department provides students with the first step on the ladder and can offer progression onto vocational courses within the College and to eventual employment opportunities.
Roisin has thrived in this role and she has had fantastic feedback from students and course tutors, because of this she has now secured a position with the department to start in September 2019. Roisin is also studying the Supporting Teaching and Learning course alongside her study and her ultimate goal is to teach in the Life Skills department.
