90 Credit Diploma
This one-year full time course is designed to give you a thorough grounding in concepts involved in the broad area of art and design, which are underpinned with materials, techniques, processes and historical studies.
The course initially develops your knowledge and skills and introduces you to a wide range of specialisms; Art and Design, Graphics, Textiles, Fashion, Photography and Interior Design.
The course is initially a one year course that is equivalent to 2 A Levels and it is designed to enable you to progress onto the Extended Diploma in Art and Design or the one-year BTEC Foundation Diploma Art & Design course which prepares you for entry into Higher Education. During the course you study six core units that underpin your knowledge and skills with specialist projects.

Learners will be offered the opportunity to undertake essential study skills appropriate to their individual needs. Key skills in communication, IT and number will be delivered as part of the course modules. All students are supported by a system of individual and group tutorials.

Entry Requirements & Interview Process
An advanced course suitable for those with at least 5 GCSEs at grade C or grade 4 to include Maths or English or a relevant Level 2 qualification such as BTEC First Diploma, GNVQ Intermediate, NVQ Level 2 or equivalent/relevant work experience. Applicants will be asked to show examples of their work at interview.
Progression
This course will enable you to progress onto the one-year Foundation Art and Design course. Possible careers include fashion/ textile designer, product designer, footwear/sports clothing designer, architect interior design or a set designer and many more.
Learners may progress onto HND Fine Art, BA Fine Art or a specialist HND/Degree.
Assessment Methods
Assessment is continuous with tutor feedback.
At the end of Year 2 learners will have produced a final major project which is externally assessed.
