Course Overview

Do you enjoy helping people look and feel great? This course will allow you to be trained professionally in a variety of current beauty treatments and services including:

  • Manicures
  • Pedicures
  • Eye treatments
  • Waxing, Facials
  • Gel nail enhancements
  • Reception duties
  • Health and Safety
  • Make-up

You will be expected to manage your time effectively and work independently which includes, self-directed study and independent learning. The course is delivered over 2 days a week. Your consultation skills will be fine-tuned to accommodate more intimate procedures. Working with salon owners through work placement, and master classes are an essential part of this course.

Entry Requirements & Interview Process

Beauty Therapy Level 1 or 4 GCSEs at grade C or grade 4 or above to include Maths and English, however applicants without these qualifications will be taken into consideration.

All applicants will be interviewed and will be expected to demonstrate enthusiasm, commitment and excellent interpersonal/communication skills. Students are expected to study outside course hours. Applicants will also be asked to complete short written and dexterity assessment. You will be expected to find a work placement for one separate block week in the industry (salon or spa) during the course.

Progression

This course can lead to Level 3 Beauty Therapy or further qualifications relevant to the industry.

Assessment Methods

Assessments are completed throughout the course with a final practical and an online exam for each unit studied, oral questioning, written assessment and assignments all of which builds up into a portfolio of evidence.
