Do you enjoy helping people look and feel great? This course will allow you to be trained professionally to shape eyebrows and perform manicures, pedicures, facials, waxing, eyelashes and eyebrow tinting.
You will be able to show off your artistic flair by creating day and evening make overs on paying clients.
During the year, you will participate in providing treatments for ‘Days of Beauty.’ You will be encouraged to use your own initiative, working independently, to industry standards, whilst building your confidence and communication skills.
Students will have the opportunity to engage in one week’s work experience in the industry (salons or spas).
The course is taught 1 day a week over a 36 week period (for 19+)

Entry Requirements & Interview Process
Beauty Therapy Level 1 or 4 GCSEs at grade D or grade 3 or above to include Maths and English, however applicants without these qualifications will be taken into consideration.
All applicants will be interviewed and will be expected to demonstrate enthusiasm, commitment and good communication skills. Students will be expected to study outside course hours.
Progression
This course can lead to Level 3 Beauty Therapy or Level 3 Theatre, Special Effects & Media Make-up.
Beauty Therapy Career opportunities include working as a salon-based or mobile therapist, working in luxury health spa, hospitals or residential homes, department stores or in sales.
Assessment Methods
Assessment is continuous throughout the course by: practical observation, oral questioning, written assessment and Gola online tests.
All of these build into a portfolio of evidence and client work. There will be an independent assessment of Units BT4, BT5, BT6, BT7, BT8 and BT9.
