BTEC Level 2 Creative Media Skills
Entry Requirements: 4 GCSEs at grade D or grade 3 to include Maths or English or a relevant/equivalent Level 1 qualification.
Course Info
This one year highly practical course allows learners to develop a wide range of skills relevant to the creative media industries and is designed for those with a keen interest in the creative media sector.
Assessment is based on a variety of projects including moving image, interactive, graphic and publishing design. Fundamental creative skills in investigation and communication run through all teaching and learning to provide valuable transferable skills. We encourage the enhancement of interests, ideas and career or progression ambitions across Creative Media enabling your decision which area you may wish to specialise at a higher level.
Teaching
You will learn in a variety of ways, including workshops, individual and interactive group tasks, demonstrations and lectures. You will be expected to work as part of a production crew in order to produce quality pieces of work, as well as working on your own projects.
Students have access to fully equipped computer suites, drawing tablets and photographic and video recording equipment and facilities.
Entry Requirements & Interview Process
An intermediate course suitable for those who have at least 4 GCSEs at grade D or grade 3 to include Maths or English or a relevant/equivalent Level 1 qualification. This could be a BTEC Introductory Diploma, a City and Guilds qualification, an NVQ Level 1, a GNVQ Foundation or relevant work experience.
Applicants will be asked to show examples of their work at interview and show enthusiasm and a commitment to the course.
