Certificate in Sport (Sports Coaching) L2
The NCFE Level 2 Certificate in Sport (Sports Coaching) is a one-year vocational course that focuses on developing the introductory skills, knowledge and understanding of Sports Coaching through a combination of theory and practical based elements.
Over the year you will study four units;
- Anatomy and Physiology for Exercise
- Developing Sporting Skills and Tactical Awareness
- Sports Coaching
- Participating in Sport
Entry Requirements: 4 GCSEs at Grade 4 or above
Course Info
This is a technical certificate that is highly recommended for those learners that wish to study a vocational sport and physical activity qualification and be provided with the opportunity to apply theory through a number of practical activities. You will develop your knowledge, understanding and skills required to be able to coach sports and physical activities within the active leisure industry.
You will gain valuable skills and experiences needed for employment (supporting PE and school sports), Apprenticeship or academic progression through the studying of the following areas:
- Planning, delivering and reviewing sport and physical activity sessions.
- Delivering multi skills sessions
- Knowledge of Anatomy, Physiology, Skill Acquisition and Talent Identification
Teaching
Throughout each unit, you will be assessed through a variety of methods that may include presentations, reports, professional discussions, practicals, or academic leaflets/posters.
Entry Requirements & Interview Process
4 GCSEs at Grade 3 or above. Applicants will take part in an Admissions Event interview.
