Course Overview

This course gives learners a full recognised qualification in dog grooming and salon management.

This is a Remote Theory course, students might need to attend for one session face to face to complete first aid assessment.

Depending on the applicant prior attainment and experience.

The applicant must demonstrate the following to prove eligibility for the Fast Track option of delivery:

  • Level 2 dog grooming qualification with 1 years styling experience OR
  • 1 years experience of styling
  • Customer reviews or employer reference
  • Photos of a range of grooms

Applicants need to be employed in a dog salon.

You will be invited to interview where you will need to bring with your proof of the above requirements plus a portfolio of evidence.

 

This course gives learners a full recognised qualification in dog grooming and salon management. This course will ensure that you are a fully qualified dog groomer.

Units covered in this qualification include:

  • Health and Safety in a Dog Grooming Environment
  • Promote the Welfare of Dogs conforming with relevant legislation
  • Customer Care and Managing Complaints
  • Assess and Plan Dog Grooming Styles and Maintenance of Equipment
  • Health Checking, Handling and Canine Behaviour
  • Prepare, Style and Finish a range of Dog Breeds
  • Canine Emergency First Aid
  • Planning the Operation of a Small Canine Business.

Entry Requirements & Interview Process

Eligibility

Depending on the applicant prior attainment and experience.

Assessment Methods

Practical assessments for the learner would either be held within the college on a practical day (staffing and equipment permitting). Alternatively, they could be held via zoom/teams – in line with the remote assessment guidance given by IPET (again staffing permitting). Staffing will need to be looked at in order to assess the potential number of new learners, may even include offsite visits. 

Course Fees

This course is for students 19 years and over, the cost of the course is £2257 with registration fees. 

This course needs to be completed within 12 months, if not you would need to pay additional registration fees.
