The Level 2 apprenticeship is an occupational qualification for learners who work in Health and Care Settings and will take between 12 and 15 months to complete.
The qualification provides the knowledge and skills for workers who have roles with responsibilities for delivery of care and support such as:
• Adult Care Worker
• Healthcare Assistant/Support Worker
• Personal Assistant
This qualification consists of mandatory units covering core knowledge and skills competencies with optional specialisms which can be are combined in flexible ways to reflect the real working context of different learners. The content of the mandatory units covers person centred approaches, communication, personal development, equality and inclusion, handling information, duty of care, responsibilities of the role, safeguarding, and, health, safety and wellbeing.

Entry Requirements & Interview Process
A discussion will take place between the applicant, the employer and the Training Officer to establish whether the range of work is available to ensure that the apprentice can achieve.
Existing maths and English skill levels will also be assessed at this meetin
Progression
Ideally on completion of your will be able to move onto the Level 3 to further develop the skills that you have gained at Level 2.
Assessment Methods
Ongoing formative assessment will take place throughout the duration of the apprenticeship to ensure that candidates are ready for the end point assessment which takes place at the end of the training.
End point assessment includes an independent assessor checking your evidence and a practical assessment is carried out in the salon under exam conditions
