The Higher National Certificate (HNC) and Higher National Diploma (HND) in Leadership & Management are vocationally-focused higher education qualifications designed to equip students with the knowledge, understanding and skills essential for managing and leading teams in contemporary business environments.
These qualifications provide students with a strong foundation in core leadership and management principles while offering opportunities to develop specialist knowledge in areas such as strategic management, organisational behaviour, project management, and business decision-making.
The programme is aimed at individuals seeking to enhance their career opportunities in supervisory or managerial roles across a broad range of industries, including business services, retail, logistics, healthcare, and the public sector. It is equally suitable for those currently employed in leadership roles wishing to formalise their skills with a recognised qualification, as well as for aspiring managers and entrepreneurs.

Progression
Upon successful completion of the HNC (Level 4), students will have the opportunity to progress directly onto the HND (Level 5) in Leadership & Management.
Graduates of the full HND qualification will have several progression options available:

Team Leader, Operations Manager, Project Manager, Business Development Manager, Departmental or Functional Manager, HR and Organisational Development Officer, Entrepreneur or small business owner.

There are no formal end-of-year examinations; assessment is continuous and based on evidence produced throughout the programme.
Course Fees
Tuition fee loans and maintenance loans are available for eligible applicants through the Student Loans Company. Prospective students are encouraged to contact the college’s admissions or student finance office for guidance on funding options.
Awarding Body
This qualification is awarded by Pearson BTEC, subject to validation. Pearson is one of the UK’s leading awarding organisations for vocational qualifications in higher education.
