Course Overview

Microsoft (MS) Word is a word processing package that is used for creating text-based documents of all kinds. Participants will learn how to use Word to create and edit simple documents; format documents; add tables and lists; add design elements and layout options; and proof documents. You will be using the desktop application Microsoft (MS) Word 2019.

This course is aimed at beginners seeking to learn how to use Microsoft Word. No prior experience is required.

The course covers

  • Navigate and perform common tasks in Word, such as opening, viewing, editing, saving and printing documents.
  • Format text and paragraphs.
  • Perform repetitive operations efficiently using tools such as Find and Replace, Format Painter, and Styles.
  • Enhance lists using bullet points and numbering.
  • Create and format tables.
  • Insert graphics and images into a document.
  • Format the overall appearance of a page through page layout, columns, headers and footers.

Use Word features to help identify and correct problems with spelling and grammar
