Course Overview

City & Guilds Level 2 Certificate in Fabrication & Welding.

This course is available for learners who have studied and passed Level 1, or have achieved English and Maths at Grade 4 (or above).

As with the Level 1, it offers a practical, hands on learning experience that will lead to a nationally recognised qualification. Students will gain not only practical experience, but a real understanding of the engineering industry.

Students will develop a wide range of knowledge and skills that may support progression into employment or an apprenticeship.

You will develop your ability to work with hands on powered tools. You will learn to weld different joints so that you will be able to apply your skills to different tasks.

You will develop much more advanced engineering skills such as positional welding all of which are highly desirable in the engineering workplace.

In addition to learning the practical aspects of different welding, cutting and fabrication techniques you will be taught how to work safely and efficiently.

Entry Requirements & Interview Process

You must have a Grade 4 or above in Maths and English, or will have achieved Level 1 previously.

Level 3 Fabrication and Welding course or employment

Assessment Methods

Students will be assessed through practical assessments and portfolio. Units on this course include sheet metal, MIG and 2 online multiple choice exams.
