Course Overview

This course is a general introduction to the exciting creative industries. On the course you will participate in a wide range of workshops and projects across Art and Design and Media Pathways; and also set groundwork for life with projects involving planning and teamwork.

You will complete creative projects using techniques, such as art, Mixed Media, Animation and Graphics.

During this course you will become well equipped in all aspects of:

  • Storyboarding
  • Animation
  • Making and designing products
  • Branding a product
  • Creating a mood board

Entry Requirements & Interview Process

School leavers need to achieve 4 GCSE’s at Grade 1 or above.

You will be invited for an interview with a specialist tutor, where candidates will be required to show a portfolio of work and display their enthusiasm and commitment to the course.

Applicants without the stated entry requirements may still have their application considered. These will be evaluated on individual merit and interviewing staff may introduce an assessment into the interview process to assess applicants’ current level of ability in relation to the course applied for. Progression

With the successful completion of the Level 1 Art qualification, students could look to move further into Level 2 art, media or another Level 2 vocation of their choosing.

Assessment Methods

Throughout the course you will be assessed through coursework, over 10 units.
