Diploma in Progression to Employment Level 1 (CL)

The qualification consists of a range of core units to provide opportunities for learners to develop skills in the areas such as literacy, numeracy, ICT, employability, learning to learn and personal development.

These qualifications will be of particular benefit to those learners who want to:

• progress into other further or higher education courses
• progress into new work area or are returning, or planning to return, to work and who are seeking to update and/or add to their employment skills.

The qualifications allow learners to achieve the size and level of qualification most suitable for their needs and relevant to their stage of learning, providing an opportunity to work towards qualifications in small steps.

This qualification has 3 strands:

Employability
This qualification offer individuals transferrable employability skills needed for employment such as teamwork, communication, problem-solving. The qualifications are designed to enable a learner either to progress directly into employment or into further learning as part of a progression pathway towards employment in a specific sector. They have been designed to complement learning in specific sectors where there is a need for the learner to obtain additional employability skills alongside sector-specific skills.

Security
This qualification gives an insight in:

• Working as a door supervisor
• First aid at work
• Pathway to SIA door supervision licence

Fashion
This diploma supports learners in enhancing their employability and confidence around sewing and garment construction.
