Course Overview

This course is designed for adult learners who are eager to become a hairdresser, ready for a change of career or have decided now is the time to do something for yourself!

From week 2 of this intensive course you will learn, practice and perform on paying clients, a variety of treatments. All learners will be encouraged to use their own initiative, work independently and as a team, whilst building confidence and communication skills.

You will get hands-on experience of shampooing and conditioning, cutting hair using a variety of techniques, demonstrate different colour applications and products, perm hair and style the hair to compliment your skills.

Practical and theory is assessed throughout the course and you will be set targets individual to your skills and development.

  • Styling hair
  • Perming
  • Creating an image based on a theme

Entry Requirements & Interview Process

No official entry requirements but an appropriate level of English to be able to complete exams online.

Applicants will be required to complete an interview via telephone.

Progression

After successfully completing this course, students can progress onto a career in hairdressing.

Career Opportunities:
Working in a salon, Renting a chair, Freelance, Bridal and Prom Hair Events.

Assessment Methods

Students will be assessed through two methods; theory – via online multiple-choice exams and practical – assessed by tutor by mutual agreement when you feel ready.
