Entry Requirements: Level 2 qualification in English

Course Info

This course allows you to develop your personal skills in English to Level 3 and evidence these to meet the entry criteria for higher level subject specialist qualifications.

It is also appropriate for vocational tutors and support staff working with learners to improve their English skills up to Level 2.

You complete 4 mandatory units:

  • Analysing English language for literacy and language teaching
  • Reading skills for literacy and language teaching
  • Speaking and listening skills for literacy and language teaching
  • Writing skills for literacy and language teaching

Teaching

The course is taught through a combination of face-to-face and online activities.

You are required to attend 15 half day sessions (including induction and initial assessment) delivered on Thursdays.

A wide range of teaching and learning strategies are used, including group activities, student presentations, peer assessment, group discussions and research tasks.

The units are taught holistically so that you can build on your skills in each area through the course.

Entry Requirements & Interview Process

Level 2 qualification in English or the ability to demonstrate secure skills at this level.
