Year 1 of this course will cover the knowledge and skill development required for progression into many careers within the fields of health, physical activity, leadership and sport. Units of study may include:
Year 2 of the course builds upon skills and knowledge from year 1, to deliver more specialist learning in line with career and progression aspirations. Students are supported with applications to higher education and building their CV with work experience and volunteering opportunities, ready for future employment.
This course also gives you the opportunity to study, alongside being part of a College Sport Academy.

Entry Requirements & Interview Process
This is an advanced course suitable for those with at least 5 GCSEs at grade C/ grade 4 or above, to include Maths and English. A relevant Level 2 qualification at a Distinction or equivalent would also be beneficial, but not essential. Additionally, you may be required to undertake a taster session or task with course tutors.
Progression
If successful on the course, you may progress to degree subjects at university such as Sports Therapy, Sport and Exercise Science, Sports Coaching, Physical Education and Support Studies.
Possible careers include: Health and Fitness Advisors, Sports Development Coordinator, Sports Scientist, Sports Psychologist, P.E. Teacher and Sport Coach.
Assessment Methods
You will be assessed using a variety of methods such as written assignments, presentations, podcasts, research projects, video analysis and practical observations.
Continual assessment takes place throughout this course and the importance of time management is greatly emphasised.
