Choose disciplines that interest you such as music theory, composition, scoring sound for film, DJ techniques and events management.
This course is designed to develop skills and understanding of the music industry and music technology equipment and software using our digital and analogue recording studio and computer suite with a range of music production software.
If you are interested in music and want to pursue a career in it, whether that be performing or producing, this is the course for you.
On this practical work related music course you will look closely at the music industry and develop basic skills in composition and music performance, including DJ Skills.

Entry Requirements & Interview Process
4 GCSEs at Grade D or Grade 3 or above or a relevant Level 1 Qualification such as NCFE Contemporary Music Practice or equivalent.
We will consider applications from learners without the necessary entry requirements.
A basic level of IT skills would be very beneficial as the course requires a lot of computer work.
Candidates will be invited to an interview with Course Leader/Tutor.
Learners will be required to show enthusiasm to learn and a commitment to the course.
Progression
Successful candidates may wish to progress to the Level 3 Diploma in Music Technology or Level 3 Diploma in Music Performance.
Career opportunities include: Sound Recording Engineer, Session Musician, Performer, Song Writer, Composer, Live Sound Engineer, Music producer and Events Management.
