This two year course explores the ways in which modern technology can be used to create and produce music.
This course is designed to provide a comprehensive grounding in the skills necessary to work in music production and computer composition. It is based on a combination of practical work and theoretical understanding.
The main focus of the course is on using technology for the creation, production and presentation of music.
The second year is based mainly in the recording studio. Key skills in communication, IT and numeracy will be delivered as part of the course modules.
All students are supported by a system of individual and group tutorials.

The course also looks into how a modern studio operates and the techniques used by professional studio engineers.

Entry Requirements & Interview Process
An advanced course suitable for those with at least 5 GCSEs at grade A*-C or grade 9-4 to include English or Maths or a relevant Level 2 qualification such as BTEC First Diploma, GNVQ Intermediate, NVQ Level 2 or equivalent/relevant work experience.
Candidates should be computer literate.
Progression
You can go on to do a degree or an HND in subjects such as music, popular music, music technology or music production.
Employment opportunities include: Sound Recording Engineer, Session Musician, Performer, Song Writer, Live Sound Engineer, Music producer and Events Management.
