The music industry has undergone massive change over recent years. What was only achievable to the few is now accessible to the many as hit tracks, film scores and broadcast material are now produced ‘in the box’.
This course offers you the opportunity to learn and grow your song writing, production and audio editing skills whilst developing a portfolio of work that you can take to demonstrate your abilities to prospective clients.
Learning is practical based and is reflective of the current music and creative industries. You will have regular engagement from local practitioners and companies throughout your studies. These could be in the form projects, workshops or talks.
Whether it’s song writing, beat making, podcasting, studio or live sound engineering, the Music & Audio Production course at Calderdale College has it. You’ll get a feel for widely used equipment by companies such as Audient, Neumann, Shure, AKG and Tannoy whilst learning through Logic Pro X. Logic is a hugely versatile digital audio workstation and was voted best DAW at the NAMM TEC awards in 2024.
