Welcome to the Options to Study course, specially designed for students aged 16-24 with an Education, Health, and Care Plan. If you’re unsure which vocational course to pursue, we’re here to guide you on an exciting exploration of different vocational areas. This course provides hands-on placements in vocational settings, allowing you to discover your interests while gaining valuable skills for a smooth transition to a full-time course. Plus, you will also strengthen your Functional Skills in maths and English along the way! 

Discover Your Passion: Unsure about your vocational pathway? Our Options to Study course gives you the chance to experience various vocational areas, helping you find your passion and make informed decisions about your future studies. 

Hands-on Experience: Immerse yourself in real vocational settings for one day each week. This invaluable experience gives you a taste of different industries, helping you understand what they’re like and what suits you best. 

Boost Your Skills: Gain valuable skills through dedicated sessions designed to enhance your overall employability and readiness for a full-time vocational course. We’ll focus on teamwork, communication, problem-solving, and time management skills that are essential for success. 

Solid Foundation: Develop your Functional Skills in maths and English, the essential building blocks for success in the workplace and further education. We’ll help you strengthen these skills, ensuring you’re well-prepared for your vocational journey.

Entry Requirements & Interview Process

If you’re aged 16-24 and have an Education, Health, and Care Plan, you’re eligible for our Options to Study course. It’s perfect for those who possess or are nearly at the level of skill and knowledge required for vocational courses but want to explore their options. 

Progression

Upon completing the Options to Study course, exciting opportunities await you: 

Full-Time Vocational Course: Armed with newfound knowledge and experience, confidently choose a full-time vocational course that aligns with your interests and career aspirations. 

Apprenticeships: Apply for apprenticeship opportunities in the vocational area that resonated with you during the course. Gain practical experience while continuing your studies.
