Course Info
The Level 2 Diploma in Plumbing and Heating is designed for those who wish to pursue a career in the Plumbing and Heating industry.
This qualification covers technical and practical training in all subjects including:
- Health & Safety in Building Services
- Electrical Principles and Processes in Building Services
- Scientific Principles for Plumbing Industry
- Common Plumbing Process Cold Water Systems
- Domestic Hot Water Systems
- Sanitation Systems
- Central Heating Systems
- Drainage Systems
- Understand how to communicate with others within the building industry.
This course consists of 12 units, 10 of these units are undertaken in college through both classroom or workshop sessions and 2 final units require completion on-site.
A substantial amount of support will be given by the college but on-site plumbing work must be available for assessment to complete the NVQ.
Teaching
You will be expected to attend the drop-in course work sessions at regular intervals as designated.
Entry Requirements & Interview Process
Entry to the course would be through an interview with our training officer/tutor to assess suitability and would involve a short entry test.
Progression on to the course will then be through either successful completion of an Ascentis Level 1 Preparation for Employment course or through prior employment with a plumbing company.
Those without an employer will be given job seeking assistance by our Training Officer and Tutors.
