Course Overview

This course is for new and aspiring middle managers as well as for those managers who are seeking recognition of the skills and knowledge that they have learned through work experience and management practice.

The Level 4 Certificate in Leadership and Management is an ideal qualification for new and aspiring middle managers as well as for those managers who are seeking recognition of the skills and knowledge that they have learned through work experience and management practice.

Designed to consolidate your current knowledge and skills, enable you to identify and develop your own leadership and management style, and to develop your capabilities and reputation as a successful innovative business leader within your organisation, this nationally recognised qualification will develop and strengthen your position in the world of management today.

If you are in a leadership and management role as a senior supervisor, department head, regional manager or at a senior level in an organisation, project management or change role then this qualification is for you.

Each of the units studied focus on a specific skill set within which the following areas will be covered:

  • 408 Management communication (4 credits)
  • 410 Managing the analysis of secondary data (4 credits)
  • 404 Delegating authority in the workplace (3 credits)
  • 506 Managing stress and conflict in the organisation (3 credits)
  • 310 Understanding how to motivate to improve performance (2 credits)

Entry Requirements & Interview Process

There are no specific entry requirements for this course. However participants’ job role must be suitable to the level of this qualification to enable partcipants to demonstrate their skills and experience. Pre-course discussion with Course Facilitator is advised.

Progression

On successful completion of this programme you may wish to consider the ILM Leadership and Management Level 5 which is also delivered at the University Centre.

Assessment Methods

Each unit has a work based project to complete.

This will include the use of work based evidence and assignment report, and on occasion work based projects.

Tuition Fee £1,410

This course is Full Cost Recovery ie. the full cost of all course fees are payable by the student or employer.
