This is a one year course designed to prepare you for a career within a Uniformed Public Service organisation, you will also gain a valuable insight into the role Outdoor Education plays in public service employment. The qualification is equivalent to four GCSEs grades A-C.
It will benefit those interested in pursuing a career in the Emergency Services, Armed Forces or other public sector roles.
Equally, the course is an ideal for those with an interest or passion in Outdoor Education.

You may also achieve additional qualifications such as your Emergency First Aid at Work qualification.
In addition to your vocational studies you may be expected to develop essential Maths and English skills. (This would depend on your qualifications upon entry to the course).

Entry Requirements & Interview Process
This is an intermediate course suitable for those who have at least 4 GCSEs at grade D or grade 3 which should include Maths or English, or a relevant/equivalent Level 1 qualification or relevant work experience.
Candidates will also need a satisfactory reference from their school or current tutor.
Progression
On successful completion of the programme (Merit or Higher) you may progress to a Level 3 Public Service course or seek employment in the Public Services industry.
Assessment Methods
A variety of assessment methods will be used including written assignments, oral presentations, practical activities and demonstrations, posters, leaflets and an externally set Integrated Vocational Assignment.
